| About Us |
Shopwise Discount Supermarket opened its doors in February
1991 and its philosophy in its 12 years of operation has
always been the competitive prices, high quality and vast
variety of products complemented with an excellent service.
After offering 11 years of service on one level, Shopwise
refurbished their premises and added another floor which
led to the addition of other products to further enhance
their already outstanding service. Upon entering from
the ground floor entrance, which is now at the back of
the building, rather than at the front, as it was before
the refurbishment, one is greeted with the wonderful aromas
of freshly-baked breads, pastries, doughnuts and sweet
and savoury pies at the Baker Stand. The wooden stand
with its lovely display of goods is reminiscent of a Swiss
chateau amidst snow-capped mountains. One can also find
chickens, gently roasting to a golden brown, which can
be bought whole or halved.
Across the Baker Stand, the Butcher with his vast display
of fresh meats occupies another important section at Shopwise
Discount Store. The meat is delivered daily to ensure
it’s always fresh. Apart from the usual cuts and
joints of beef, pork, lamb, veal, mutton and poultry,
one can also find marinated meats which are ideal for
barbecues during the hot summer months. Customers can
phone to order marinated meats ranging from beef or chicken
kebabs, steaks, chicken wings/thighs/legs and much more.
The marinade sauces range includes bbq, curry, lemon and
pepper, mustard and sweet and sour.
The greengrocer on the first floor boasts of a large selection
of crispy fresh vegetables and all sorts of local and
exotic fruits. At the cheese counter and delicatessen
section, one can find a vast range of local and foreign
cheeses ranging from the popular Edam cheese, to soft
brie to pungent Old Amsterdam and to tasty Parmeggiano,
along with hams and salamis.
The frozen section is also worth a mention as it includes
a huge selection of frozen meats, pizzas, vegetables,
fish, sweets and ice-creams. On the second floor, customers
can also find a large variety of cleaning products, household
goods, bathroom and bedroom linen, electrical goods, toiletries,
foreign and local wines, drinks and spirits, while all
sorts of famously branded canned, bottled and packed delicacies
are closely packed on the shelves of both floors.
To ensure a quicker service, cash points are situated
at both levels, making your weekly or monthly shopping
spree less of a time-consuming ordeal. Of course, the
staff are all highly trained in customer service and know
their job inside out to be able to help you with all you
need, always with a smile on their face.
